So it’s over. It’s done. You and him. You and her= OVER. “Adios.” “Peace out” “Goodbye”.
The phone line is dead and all you hear is silence. You cry, you sulk, you get mad, you get bitter. You throw a tantrum, you throw youself in bed and feel like the life in you has been knocked outta you and your heart is just shattered in a million pieces.
“I hate him. I wasted so much time. I trusted him. I gave so much of my heart… I gave so much of ME. How could I be so stupid?! WTF WAS I THINKING?!”
… And you just keep beatin yourself up bout it till you dry your body out.
And no matter how bad you would kill to go back to the good times, you can’t. And the memories just replay in your head like a ripped film. And you swear you’ll never love again…
BUT after it’s all said and done, you know you can’t live like this. You don’t deserve it. You learn to look from a 3rd perspective view. You learn that he just wants what is best for himself and for you. You learn that he isn’t the bad guy and you’re not the victim; it was just a failed romance, and it hurts, BUT it’s alright. You learn that the effort and love wasn’t enough, it never was, because you were both blinded by lust from the gecko anyways. You learn no one should take any blame because he is a good guy and you’re a good girl, just not good together. You learn that you don’t need him to go through the day because as long as you have yourself, you don’t need someone to fulfill that empty void. You learn that all good things fall apart so better things could come together. You learn that it’s not completely over, because friendship still exists. You learn life hasn’t ended and time will heal all wounds. Just breathe… There’s always a calm after a storm.
Most importantly, you learn EVERYTHING WILL BE OK. It is… it will.. and always will be.
WORD.
Although I’ve been there and done that, I’ve never liked using other people as a rebound after an “once-upon-a-time” significant other has walked outta my life. Almost 90% of the time, this action was subconcious. And as for the other 10%, that’s a different story. As more and more people dipped outta my life as quick *like that*, I gained a greater amount of understanding and self-respect. Yes, it is nice to have someone to talk to at night to kill the silence; yeah, it is nice to cover up the hurt and loneliness with someone that can fill it back up as quickly; and hell yeah, it is nice to know you’re still worth somethin to someone… anyone, if not from him. But after awhile, that shit gets really old. The guys you meet that shower you with compliments and gifts don’t fill up the emptiness anymore. If anything, the more you take from them, the more you lose yourself and even though you’re gaining all the love from others, you still feel empty. Compliments don’t seem flattering like they used to and they all just sound more like some bullshit lie to catch your heart quick from the start, and you know it’ll all eventually mean nothing later on. Infatuation just gets annoying cause you swear you’re only gonna settle for somethin real. And you start to realize you don’t need anyone, you can do damn well on your own, if anything, you are so much happier. Self-respect and self-love plays a big part into your life and you learn that as long as you love yourself and know your self-worth, the empty cup to fill in any slight feeling of loneliness, hurt, rejection, etc. doesn’t exist anymore. As far as “misery loves company”, misery has no affect and the only company you love is being with yourself.
WORD.REBLOGGED! ( So it's not really from my experience , but I definately agree with this person's perspective )
Before I found out about boys (which was my freshman year of h.s. lol) I was into sports. Basketball team in the 6th grade, and softball team 7th and 8th. And I was good at these games. But, oddly enough I never liked to play. Why? ‘cuz my heart just wasn’t in it.
I’m an adult now, and I can still say the same. Games? I’m good at them. But I just don’t have the heart to play. Or maybe, I have TOO much of a heart to play. And I never, ever cheat.
5 years ago, I would’ve played. And I probably would’ve won. But now I’ve come to realize that it’s not about seeing who can make the other person wait the longest. It’s not about who gives in first. It’s not about who can inflict more pain. It’s not about making them crawl, or beg, or cry. It’s about knowing what you want. And most of all knowing when to let go.
You can only make excuses for another person and give them the benefit of the doubt for so long before they start to take advantage of your love. But remember, they can only take advantage of your love for as long as u let them. Until u realize it ain’t worth it anymore. Until ur so over all the bullshit that even though ur heart is still 175% in it, u just can’t take it anymore and ur mind forces urself to move the fuck on. Even if ur kicking and screaming to stay.
‘Cuz every second wasted playing games is a second u could’ve spent being happy together, or giving someone else a chance. Sure, games are fun. But u can’t always win. Just ask the dude who insists he’s 25 at the clubs but is really 30 and lonely wishing he had someone to come home to. Or even better, ask ur friend who’s been in an unhappy relationship for over a year.
THIS IS REAL LIFE. This ain’t no fuckin Super Mario Brothers, Call of Duty, Madden shit. All the characters are real. The hearts u stab actually hurt. There are no special codes to get extra lives. And that princess waiting for u in the clock tower will eventually realize she’s a Queen and get the fuck outta there herself. Once the credits roll and the game is over - IT’S GAME OVER
